Cargo Transporters is Now Hiring HR Generalist

Primary Function:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing HR service and support at all levels of the company. Additionally, they are responsible for collecting, maintaining, and reporting information and data on many HR related topics.

Essential Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintains knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies, talent management, and employment law
  • Makes recommendations and revisions to HR policies and procedures
  • Recruit, interview, and screen non-driver applicants
  • Maintains all job descriptions and organizational charts
  • Manages employee internal company store program
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of departments
  • Responsible for Unemployment Benefit management including claims, hearings, and appeals
  • Annual reporting including EEO-1, 401k Census, OSHA, Safety Awards, FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Backup to Orientation Coordinator
  • Coordinates with managers and schedules DOT physicals with clinics
  • Participates in other projects as needed and other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills to include verbal, written, and interpersonal
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc)
  • Strong organizational skills to include the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
  • Ability to integrate and analyze data
  • Thrive while working in a team environment or independently
  • Ability to work with confidential data and work with high degree of integrity and ethics

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3+ year’s relevant experience
  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and benefits compliance (FMLA, ADA, COBRA)

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
