| Position Title: Truck Technician | Department: Maintenance |
| Reports to: Director of Maintenance | Classification: Non-Exempt |
Primary Function:
Performs mechanical repair, service and PM work on all equipment maintained by the company. Assist in maintaining company service and shop equipment.
Essential Position Responsibilities:
- Service and repair equipment that is scheduled for assigned service lane.
- Be flexible for reassignment to other projects throughout the shift, including road break-down calls.
- Trailer repairs including but not limited to wheel end and bearing repairs, foundation brakes (drum and disc), understand and repair ABS failures and complex lighting systems.
- Operate a computer terminal to inquire and generate unit maintenance forms
- Act professionally and respectfully toward drivers and the motoring public through all actions and behaviors
- Help maintain a clean and safe working area
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prefer experience with DOT inspections according to FMCSA regulations
- Component rebuild of heavy duty dry or reefer trailer.
- Trade seminars and equipment/component service seminars a plus.
- Must be able to make decisions and establish work priorities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A high level of accuracy is required.
- Bending, pushing, lifting min. 50 lbs., twisting, squatting, and stooping as needed
