Position Title:  Truck Technician	Department:  Maintenance
Reports to:  Director of Maintenance	Classification:  Non-Exempt

Primary Function:

Performs mechanical repair, service and PM work on all equipment maintained by the company.  Assist in maintaining company service and shop equipment.

Essential Position Responsibilities:

• Service and repair equipment that is scheduled for assigned service lane.
• Be flexible for reassignment to other projects throughout the shift, including road break-down calls.
• Trailer repairs including but not limited to wheel end and bearing repairs, foundation brakes (drum and disc), understand and repair ABS failures and complex lighting systems.
• Operate a computer terminal to inquire and generate unit maintenance forms
• Act professionally and respectfully toward drivers and the motoring public through all actions and behaviors
• Help maintain a clean and safe working area
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Prefer experience with DOT inspections according to FMCSA regulations
• Component rebuild of heavy duty dry or reefer trailer. 
• Trade seminars and equipment/component service seminars a plus. 
• Must be able to make decisions and establish work priorities. 
• Excellent communication skills.
• A high level of accuracy is required.
• Bending, pushing, lifting min. 50 lbs., twisting, squatting, and stooping as needed
