Cargo Transporters has been chosen as one of the Top 50 Green Fleets by Heavy Duty Trucking.
The Top 50 Green Fleets highlights fleets that are pushing for sustainability and making it a part of their everyday operations, such as improving fuel economy and greenhouse gas emissions, using alternative fuels, building green facilities, etc. Heavy Duty Trucking announced its second annual Top 50 Green Fleets at the Green Fleet Conference in Schaumburg, Ill. A ceremony was held at the conference to honor these fleets for their sustainability efforts.
Fleets of all sizes, types and vocations were evaluated and chosen. There will be a more in-depth article highlighting each of these 50 fleets in the November issue of Heavy Duty Trucking.
“We are extremely proud of our efforts to reduce our impact on our environment,” says John Pope, Chairman of Cargo Transporters. This year the company, in addition to improving overall fleet MPG, the company added 22 electrified parking places for trucks, converted to all electric hand dryers in its facilities, added 2 electric vehicle charging stations and is completing a conversion to all LED lighting in offices and shops.
Cargo Transporters continually refines its vehicle specifications to maximize fuel efficiency and has been a US EPA SmartWay certified carrier for almost 10 years.
