Cargo Transporters, Inc. is proud to announce that driver’s pay will increase effective February 15th, 2015. As a leader in the industry, Cargo Transporters will continue to increase compensation for drivers and their important role in moving America forward. This latest increase is coming on the heels of two increases in 2014. In April 2014, all drivers received an increase in pay. In June 2014, the decision was made to move from the industry standard Rand McNally Household Mover Guide Shortest Miles to Practical Miles pay, resulting in a higher income. With those changes, Drivers received an average increase of 10.1 % in pay. “Our founders were drivers. It is important to us that our drivers earn a wage that reflects the skill and professionalism needed to keep America’s freight moving,” says John Pope, Chairman. “Driving a truck is a very demanding job. From being away from your home and family, to dealing with the stress of increasing traffic and road construction, it is a very tough career.”
Combining these increases, freight levels and recent changes in Hours of Service, Shelley Dellinger Mundy, Director of Recruiting and Retention, anticipates the average annual earning potential could be close to $58,000 in 2015. She continues, “It’s a great time to be a commercial truck driver or to begin a career as a professional driver.”
Cargo Transporters not only offers a highly competitive wage within the industry, but additionally provides many sought after benefits, which includes Company-matched 401K, Health Insurance, Short and Long Term Disability Insurance, two weeks vacation pay, seven paid holidays and Company Paid Life Insurance, detention, layover and mechanical pay as well. The company prides itself on providing cutting edge technology to make the drivers job as safe and as comfortable as possible. Most recently, the company has begun offering Directv service through EpicVue for drivers to access while resting or waiting on freight.
