Cargo Transporters is pleased to recognize Kevin Fowler as our Driver of the Month for August 2026.
Kevin joined Cargo in December 2018 and operates out of our Rocky Mount terminal. Since joining the company, he has driven more than 917,000 miles and earned a reputation as a dependable driver who is always willing to help.
Going Above and Beyond
Kevin’s Fleet Leader, Greg Selix, nominated him for the recognition. According to Greg, Kevin’s willingness to do more than what is expected makes him a valuable member of the Cargo team.
“He’s a great driver who is willing to go above and beyond what is requested of him,” Greg said. “He is easy-going and great to work with.”
That steady, team-oriented attitude has helped Kevin build a successful career at Cargo. He believes in doing his part and appreciates working for a company where others do the same.
“I just like the company,” Kevin said. “I do my part, and everyone else does theirs. They’ve never forced me to do anything I feel uncomfortable doing.”
Enjoying Life on the Road
For Kevin, driving offers an opportunity to experience something different each day.
“I just like being out on the road, seeing different places and new things,” he said.
Since joining Cargo, Kevin has accumulated more than 917,000 miles. Throughout those miles, he has continued to demonstrate the dependable and easy-going approach recognized by his Fleet Leader.
A Practical Approach to Safety
Kevin also understands that safety requires everyone on the road to take responsibility.
“Safety is a big part of trucking,” he said. “Everyone needs to do their part.”
His advice for drivers entering the industry centers on awareness and the basic practices that remain important throughout a driving career.
“Always be aware of your surroundings and get out and look,” Kevin said. “Always do the pre-trip.”
Those straightforward reminders reflect Kevin’s practical approach to the job. They also reinforce the importance of taking the time to assess your surroundings and prepare before every trip.
